Granola
Recipe from my MIL, Debbie Hutchings
8 c. oats (old-fashioned)
1 c. wheat germ
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. of any or all of the following:
slivered or sliced almonds
cashews
sunflower seeds
flaked coconut
pumpkin seeds
any other raw nut you desire
Mix well in large bowl.
In a saucepan heat:
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. oil
1 c peanut butter
1/2 c. maple syrup
3/4 c. honey
Heat until bubbly then turn off heat and add 2 tsp.vanilla. Pour over granola mixture.
Spread onto 2 extra large baking sheets. Bake at 200 degrees for 2 hours. Do not overcook. It may seem moist, that's how it's supposed to be! Let cool. Put back into bowl and stir in:
2 c. craisins and/or your choice of any other dried fruit.
Store in airtight containers.
